Grants and scholarships season kicks off

Community grants cycle calendars are again available on our website’s community grantmaking page.  Affiliate grant amounts and guidelines are posted on the affiliates’ respective pages on our website. Click here to find the affiliate serving your area, then click on “Applying for grants” in the left-hand column.

Online tools for grantseekers and grant reviewers also are available on our website. Several NCCF staff members will again host grantseeker workshops throughout the state. Look for these to be announced on our website, through social media outlets and also in local news media.

Scholarships

Scholarship season details, tools and application information link from our website’s scholarship page. Applicant deadlines range from February to May.

NCCF is proud to administer the scholarship program on behalf of our fundholders. Last year we awarded more than $750,000 to more than 300 students, with more than one-third of that going to first generation students, a niche we are interested in fostering.  We invite you to get to know some of our NCCF Scholars, profiled on our website here.

Mailings

February also is a month during which we send out quarterly fund statements to show how funds have performed over the past three months, as well as information about recent market activity. This mailing also will contain information about ATD (available to distribute or grant) amounts and NCCF Notes.

Donor advised fundholders, affiliate grants chairs, agency fund administrators or scholarship administrators will soon receive information on their funds’ ATD for next fiscal year, important dates and deadlines to remember and contact details for more information.

ATDs are expected to be up again in 2016, just as they were in 2015 for most categories of endowments administered by NCCF, according to John Hartley, director of finance and chief investment officer.
