NCCF hosts Pop-Up Philanthropy in Wilmington

The event featured discussion of opportunities for collaboration among fundholders, nonprofit leaders, professional advisors, local affiliates and NCCF to increase local philanthropic impact. Also attending were NCCF senior staff and local and statewide board members.

"Pop-Up Philanthropy provided us with a wonderful opportunity to showcase resources the North Carolina Community Foundation provides in the southeastern region in partnership with our local affiliates, the New Hanover County Community Foundation and the Brunswick County Community Foundation," said NCCF CEO Jennifer Tolle Whiteside. "We’re proud to be the only statewide community foundation serving North Carolina and the largest community foundation serving eastern North Carolina," she said.

New Hanover Community Foundation has served the community for the past 31 years. Brunswick County Community Foundation was established 21 years ago.

In the last decade alone, the two affiliates have awarded more than $12.5 million in grants to local nonprofits in New Hanover and Brunswick counties through funds administered by NCCF and through their respective community grantmaking funds.

“These affiliates are really making an impact,” said Anne Sorhagen, regional director for NCCF’s southeast region.
